PARKS
The Town of Wright is committed to providing safe and modern park equipment for its residents. All Wright parks have astroturf installed around playground equipment to provide fall protection. The parks connect approximately 7 miles of bike and walking paths throughout the community. Wright residents are proud of their meticulously groomed and maintained parks, which provide safe, fun havens for children and great venues for family picnics and barbeques.
All picnic and barbeque areas are available on a first come, first serve basis (Reservations are not accepted).
Pioneer Park – Conveniently located across the street from Cottonwood Elementary School, Pioneer Park allows parents to play with their little ones until their school-aged kids are done for the day. Pioneer offers two sets of playground equipment for ages 2-5 and 5-12. A large gazebo, numerous picnic tables with shelters and barbeque grills are available. The frisbee golf course area adds enjoyment for all ages. Ample parking and handicapped accessible restrooms are available.
Tatanka Park – Known as the nicest park in Wright, Tatanka Park offers fun for all ages. A three story play structure is a favorite for the children. A sand volleyball pit is available. Just bring your friends and your volleyball for match. Ample parking and handicapped accessible rest rooms are available
Gibson Park – Movies in the Park are offered during the summer months at Gibson Park. Located off Wright Boulevard next the Wright Branch Library and across the street from the Cottonwood Elementary School the park offers a small gazebo and connects to several bike paths.
Gibson Park has been identified as the location for the future Wright Town Square. The project includes plans to develop an ice skating rink, splash park and amphitheater. It will eventually be a gathering place for local citizens during all seasons. The project will be constructed in phases as funding is available.
